Actually, I'm kinda lazy and just mixed it into my base coat at a 75 base coat/25 MS ratio. All SH products do seem to slow down the dry time though

It should block stains on your nails, however it is possible some polishes might stain the gel, ++
I go ahead and put down a base coat anyway if I think a polish might stain.
