I bet this was that weird AF ointment/cream people were using for melasma. ROP
It smelled like gasoline or some other awful fuel. Looked like darker-colored Vaseline. There was some skin care store/website (not essential day spa)

hmm. well, the truth is -- this only happens if your lips already have something emollient on them+
when you apply the color, or if you eat something really greasy -- like tomato-mozzarella drenched in olive oil. I put Vaseline on my lips first --
