I think it’s a matter of preference really. My personal experience with the two is as follows:

I've been enjoying eye creams lately. Years ago someone gave me poor advice +
that "no one needs eye cream." I don't find that to be true, in my case. And if I'm getting eye cream from the Inkey List, it's not even expensive.
