I checked tracking history. It doesn't appear that the package was transported by anyone other than
USPS. It went from PPU to Saint Paul to Minneapolis to my hometown which is just over an hour from PPU offices.

My mail carrier does (M-F) and so does the Saturday guy. They come
to the door for any package even if it has no signature required—like if it's too big for the mailbox.
