NY who were hoarders, it was a really good read. DH is a semi hoarder- if he didn't have me he'd be buried in crap by now.....

What about going with either a darker wood or white? Your photo shows a darker wood table/counter+
and I like that look. If your counters are a lighter quartz, a white table would look fab, I think. I really like this one and it has great reviews:
