I've done it a few times with mixed experiences:
Shampoo bars + city water = scummy feeling hair, dirty near scalp, frizzy and staticky at the ends Shampoo bars + very nice Tasmanian water = prett

I had good luck with a shampoo bar from Lush called Seanik. I also used a
apple cider vinegar shampoo. Forgot the name. I was not a big fan of soft water but when you find products that help it does make a difference.

I like the Asian version of Maybelline Baby Lips
