The slats are so close together and your lo is so light weight that the mattress on ++
Top of the slats will be fine for years.

I'm not a bed expert but my understanding is that the mattress is fine on the slats++
bc your LO is light. Your LO is still young and weighs much less than a 100lbs. I think when you hear that it's not good to put mattresses on slats,
