Smashbox has excellent products , imo. I would use products designed for sensitive skin+
Check out Neutrogena, Almay, and Clinique. Also Bare Minerals products never bothered my skin. Did you ever try Smashbox foundations? I liked their BB

I had same experience with Cetaphil cleanser after years of using it - r/o
Switching to CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser made an almost immediate difference.

That's interesting because it doesn't have any ingredients that Cetaphil didn't. There's an +
emulsifier in Cetaphil that isn't in Differin, so maybe it doesn't rinse off as well and it was leaving something on your skin that made it break out.
