You can lightly exfoliate when using retinoids/retinol/retinal….++
The key is to space out the use of the retinol to the point where you’re getting NO irritation. If there’s irritation you’re using it too frequently.

I think it’s the super dry air - same happens to me. A little HA inside the nostrils topped with a
tiny bit of Vaseline works wonders. On skin, go for an oil based moisturizer like Weleda skin food or Nivea crème

I’ve been using Avene cicalfate and it’s helping me a lot +
Also I really like skinfix barrier cream, Illiyoon ato cream. I will use Cerave healing ointment on top of the moisturizers at night. That is a nicer

If you can use Vaseline, I layer this on top of my moisturizer.
I also do a little bit of exfoliating with a wash cloth or my Foreo Luna. I also have a lovely breakout on my forehead.
