    This gives a smooth, natural but flawless look to my pitted nails. Unlike nail polish, it does not contain phthalates, and it doesn't peel off and look terrible in a few days.

    Yes, this can definitely build up and peel off. But the trick is to apply as thin a coat as possible. And if you follow Neutrogena's directions .. to squeeze the tube while holding it upside down...
