By itself, I don't care for this fragrance but combined w/Jo Malone's Pomagranate Noir, it's a keeper. Pom tends to smell masculine w/an aftershave quality but since I spent an arm and leg on the...

So...it means passage through Hell? I guess my 5+ years of french failed me. A passage through hell should smell of booze, cigarettes, illegal substances, sex without a shower afterwards, and...

At first whiff, this fragrance was admirable, but weird. Strong and incensy and church-like, but also a little cold and austere, like a cool marble sarcophagus! But as it dried down, it blended...

Meh. On me this is pretty neutral with a hint of soap/after shave. I'll use up my sample but that's it. No good staying power either. Obviously L'Artisan and my skin don't go well together :(

REALLY like this one! I can't detect any floral notes at all. On me it's just a very clean, light, dry scent. Not sweet at all. Very different. It has a sort of soapiness to it but not the acrid,...

This is the most addictive, hypnotic, delicious fragrance. It's fresh smelling (I happen to think laundry detergent is an aphrodisiac) without being prissy. My body chemistry does beautiful things...

Oh, the pictures that PdE conjures up! One sniff, and I'm in one of those dark Venetian churches, where the odour of damp stone and mouldering tapestries mingles with the scent of altar lilies. I...

I don't get it. I really don't. One wrist: Passage d'Enfer. The other wrist: Soft Soap. Aren't they the same? I like this scent. It's extremely clean smelling. But I certainly don't get the...

A very clean, soapy, fresh Incense scent,a lil on the masculine side but it did not bother me at all, I like it..Though not enough to purchase a full bottle unless I got in a swap or on Ebay at a...

I had heard SO much about this scent that I had to try it--it turns out that it is straight incense on me. But it taught me something--body chemistry and sub-jective opinion weigh in so much with...

This is a literary odour. This is what it is to sit on a stone wall in an 18th - 19th century graveyard on a grey day that sooths the eyes, reading Hesse's Demian, or Poe's Annabel Lee. Passage...

There's nothing special about this IMO. Just another incense smelling scent. If you like spices, this might be for you but not for me (a fruity, floral gal).

this keeps growing on me -- at first i thought it was too floral -- but no. it really *is* rather enigmatic, sort of bitter-sweet, definitely incense, also something almost soapy, but not as in...

A beautiful incense scent that makes me think of sneaking a kiss from a tousle-haired, pillow-lipped young man during services...naughty and invigorating, and one of my all-time favorites.

Passage d'Enfer is a serious and almost humorless scent. The church analogies are very apt. The dry down intrigues me -- the mystery of incense mingling with a clean (potentially soapy) lily and...

I really like this. It isn't at all what I expected - I really get a strong floral before I get any incense at all. I assume that the lily and the aloe agree with me. About 2 hours later I still...

A soft, gentle incense scent, but a bit soapy, bland and boring. To me, it pales in comparison to the other fiery or otherwise intriguing incenses out there like the CdG Series 2 scents, Regina...

A delicate slip of a scent. Incense, then lily riding over the ghost of smoke, a final murmur of musk. Not potent to begin with, and gone in 15 minutes. More subtle and fleeting than Omnia.

I love the L'artisan line, and they seem to work really well on me. Passage d'Enger is basically old woods that have been burnt and are now cold and damp. That's the only way I can describe it. ...
