I have a face moisturizer-PC pore purifier Serum with salicylic acid plus white tea, I believe the pH is 5, at least that is as close as I can figure

No; nothing is as effective as Retin-A. The next best thing is Retinaldehyde, like in Avene rop
Ystheal Cream. Retinaldehyde is also proven to be less irritating than Retinol and Retin-A. But with any Retinoid there are some "rules":

I just use my regular products (excluding actives), wear sunglasses and try not too touch the skin +
roughly. Smile lines are coming but that's my life on my face...:)
