I usually just sprinkle into topcoat, pat down and then repeat until the opacity I'm going for. rop
Then top coat again to level out. These are really thin shards. Oh and I usually have a lighter base color (baby blue looks awesome).

My general advice is to avoid polyvinyl butyral.Look for protein builder&reduce exposure to acetone+
Nailtiques 2 is very popular on this board. Nail-Aid and Barielle make good base coat products that are more economical.
