The Wella Company is a haircare company founded by Franz Stroher in Germany. He began the business in 1880, selling tulles, which are the bases for wigs. He filed for a patent for Wella in 1924. The company went on to create the world's first portable permer in 1930 and the first ever balm to "nourish and protect hair." They launced demi-permanent hair color in 1988, and currently offer a wide range of styling products, tools, and hair color for professionals.
