Real Techniques was founded by Samantha and Nicola Chapman, sisters and former makeup artists. They became well-known for their Pixiwoo makeup channel on YouTube, and eventually launched Real Techniques brush collection in 2011. The brushes are cruelty-free, made of synthetic Taklon and not tested on animals.*
