Gold bond was first introduced by Arthur W. Guilford in 1908. He bought the formula of the medicated powder from The Rhode Island State Medical Association, who’s conference of physicians originally developed it in 1882*. In 1990 Gold Bond was purchased by Martin Himmel who developed the product further and marketed on a national level. The line has increased to creams and lotions along with its best-selling powder, all of which are widely available in drugstores and retail chains nationwide.
