I've tried everything out there to keep my hair ashy toned and nothing comes close to this stuff. I also find that other purple shampoos are drying but this one isn't.

Not much tone so I don't think it does much for the colour. I do like it and my hair feels lovely after. If you are just after toning effect use the shampoo (awesome)
